First contact
You may contact us as your chosen funeral director at any time to notify us that someone has passed away and you would like to use our services. At this stage, we would ask who you are in relation to the deceased, next of kin if that is someone else, who has passed away and where they have died. We can discuss as much or as little information at this initial stage as you are comfortable with. We will discuss any urgent matters, such as if someone has died at home, how and when we will look after them immediately, or any other questions on your mind. Other matters can be discussed later as and when you are ready to think about further details. See further information about when someone dies
Next stages
As we progress funeral arrangements, we would usually like to sit down with you and perhaps your family, either at an appointment in one of our offices, or at your home to discuss your individual wishes and options in full.
If you are not in Aberdeen, we can discuss a considerable amount by telephone or video call, email documents which we may need to talk you through, or refer to you to resources on our website which may help you in making choices.
To help you think in your own time about some of the options, or to be prepared for the decisions you will have to make, we detail below some of the services and facilities we routinely discuss or offer. For further information on specific elements, please refer to the linked pages. For questions or requirements not listed here, please contact us any time.
